We are stuck with the images from PACS and cannot reconstruct the raw data from the scanner (screenshot attached). However, when we create a new series in Osirix only including the Chest images (exported from the original CAP series with non-regular slice intervals), the chest images still appear “stretched” in the z-axis. Our project involves only the Chest and so we are hoping to remove the Abdomen/Pelvis image from the series altogether and return the Chest images to their normal geometry. When we look at a coronal MPR of the data in a standard DICOM viewer (Osirix) we get a distorted image (screenshot attached), presumably because the slice interval is 4 times less for the Chest (0.625) compared to the Abdomen/Pelvis (2.5). In fact, this combination is already in use at some hospitals around the world, and you can watch a video below of surgeons using an iPad with MRI images within OsiriX during an operation. My doctor happened to be using an older Windows tablet – remember those? – but I can see these apps and iPads taking the healthcare world by storm in the very near future. Considering how expensive everything else is in the American health care world, I was impressed to find out that these apps are offered for free for Mac, iPhone, and iPad. OsiriX delivered in a far more impressive manner than I expected, it is one of the most interesting applications I’ve ever used. I’m just a curious patient, not a medical professional, but after paying the equivalent of a brand new midrange MacBook Pro to get an MRI, I wanted to be able to view the resulting MRI DICOM images on my Mac when I got home. In my case, these DICOM files came from an MRI. DICOM Viewer for iPad & iPhone (free on App Store, alternative to OsiriX). The footer section has the filename aligned to the left, copyright notice aligned to the centre, and page numbering aligned to the right. A project document has a header that contains the company logo aligned to the right, and document name aligned to the left. Let’s work on this common scenario that I’ve encountered. While there are many ways to solve problematic header and footer, I prefer to use table to control them, especially if it involves a combination of text and image. I have seen many occurrences of header and footer going out of places in Word documents for various reasons (some are even unexplainable!).
